I replaced my windows and no air conditioner now fits. After quite a bit of searching this was the smallest in height that I could find. Had to take out the window stops but got it in. And so glad I did. Went out an got a second one for another room with the same issue. The AC works great And yes it has been put to the test this summer. LG please do not stop making this size. If anything a little shorter would be great. :-

Struggles with less than 100 square feet

Takes a full day to chill my office less than 100 square feet and it struggles to even cool even that. I have to sit directly in front of it to get any benefit. For 5000 btu its not working. It gets 2 stars because it does turn on as promised when you plug it in.

Good product too bad about LG customer service

A/Cs I bought 2 work fine but I will avoid LG products in the future since their customer service is terrible. Rubber plugs were missing so I called customer service. I was told parts would be sent but I never received them. 2 more phone calls and more promises that parts would ship but never received. A/Cs continue to drip on the heads of people below.

A Little too Little

The AC works fine but it the fan is loud and the unit makes more noise than expected when it is cooling. The installation into the window could be improved by having wider extensions on the side of the unit and having larger/longer tabs so the screw used to secure it are not so close to the bottom of the sash.

Water spitting out of vent/noise

Ive this ac for roughly 2 years. After it rained and the rain stopped I turned the ac back on and it started spitting water Not much water. I installed in correctly but Im thinking maybe the drain is clogged. Is there anyway to drain the water out of pan? Everytime I turn it on it makes the spitting noise and some water/condensation appears and condensation is forming underneath the ac on in the inside of the house/room. Please advise.

I got this after my old one quit on me. I use it in my bedroom and I was worried it wouldnt work as well as my old one. But it does. It keeps the room nice and cold The only thing I would change is I would have the air come out the front instead of the top. But thats not a deal breaker. Overall I am extremely satisfied

Favorite AC

This is my second LW5016. This style is my favorite as well. Overall a pretty quiet air conditioner. I really like that the air blows upwards mostly allowing it to better circulate the air in the room since cold air falls. It also feels better to have cold air slowly fall on you then having a gale force ice wind on you that feels refreshing for a couple minutes then is too much. The simple controls are a plus to me as there is much less to go wrong as well. Overall I am very happy with both my LG LW5016s and would buy another if needed

Hearing damage

We have had this ac less than one year and used it maybe a total of 25 days. Woke up tonight to extremely loud high pitched sound. All of us in the house have ears that are ringing loudly as if we spent a week at a rock concert. Worried we now have permanent hearing damage. We have a second unopened one that we were planning to put in but I am less concerned with that than the physical damage it has caused to our bodies. Never experienced something like this from an a/c. Warning do not buy this

I bought this about a month ago in a rush to find something. Its good for what it is. The complaints I have is there are two buttons on/off and high/low and then the turn knob for how high you want it. With the designs being very simple you cant really do much with it. I wish there was a power saving mode so it can get a break from being on all day without actually having to turn it off.

A great compact AC unit Pefrect for a bedroom.

We were gifted one of these units by a friend last year and due to the layout of our house and the small frame size of the replacement windows we had fitted a few years ago. Having had great expreience we purchased another recently and at a great price cheaper directly from LG compared to online retailers. Our options have been limited for in window devices. In the past we have had to use less than ideal Or efficient floor standing models - This LG is perfect for the purpose. Once paired with a smart plug we can remotley turn this on off or set a regular shecdule with zero fuss. We might get more for other parts of the house.

TIGHT FIT BUT WORTH IT

This is the first window AC I have even considered in the last 8 years because of noise and weight. I liked the features advertised too. My wife and I while installing it would say many times TAKE IT BACK its too big for this -* window. It was a very tight fit. Once installed and put into use in the ECO mode it has been GREAT and QUIET. We are SO GLAD we got it. We used the ACE BRACE to make sure it was secure and that made the install a tiny bit more difficult but taking it out for winter will be a snap with that. So far it has been flawless and hope it stays that way.

Need the missing pieces

I am missing the pieces - its cold- but I cant put it in the window because Im missing the outer wings that secure it in the window and prevents air from coming in the house

Very Reliable Unit - Owned for 6 years

With noise ratings of 55/-/50 db this is not the quietest window air unit but it is very durable. I have had two for 6 or longer years and it just keeps on humming along with no funny business

Great little AC for small rooms

There are hundreds of units like this online and in big box stores to choose from. I choose this unit because of the LG name. This unit delivers great cooling exiting air 25F lower than room temperature. It is very simple to operate and install without a second set of hands. It is also very quite compared to similar sized portable units. Ive only owned it for less than a month but I suspect it will provide years of reliable service.

I recently purchased an LG window AC unit for my home and have been using it for the past few weeks. Overall I am extremely satisfied with its performance as it has efficiently cooled my living space even during the hottest summer days. The installation process was straightforward with the included instructions providing clear guidance. Once installed the unit effectively cooled my room within a matter of minutes and I was pleasantly surprised by its relatively low noise level. The multiple fan speeds allow for precise temperature control making it easy to achieve the ideal comfort level. The energy efficiency of this LG window AC unit is also commendable. My electricity bill has not increased significantly even with regular use during peak hours. This is a testament to LGs commitment to creating eco-friendly and cost-effective products. However I did encounter a minor issue upon unboxing the unit. The drain plug was clogged which could have led to water accumulating within the unit and potentially causing damage. Thankfully I noticed this before installing the AC and was able to clear the obstruction with minimal effort. I recommend that future buyers inspect the drain plug before installation to avoid any potential issues. Despite this minor hiccup the LG window AC unit has surpassed my expectations with its powerful cooling capabilities and energy efficiency. Purchased on line and it was delivered in 3 days It is simple to install and use . A/C runs very quietly and the efficiency rating is very good . When it is time to clean the filter it looks like it will take all of one minute. 5 stars for sure

Simple effective air conditioner

This is a simple effective air conditioner. There are much more complex models and much quieter models. But there is value in simplicity for use cases where the AC is needed only for a few weeks in a year. It does exactly what its supposed to do and when I dont need it I can give it away rather than worrying about it.

Easy to install and set up

As a non technical person the instructions that came with the air conditioner made the installation and set up very easy. The air conditioner works as expected. My only gripe with it is that its not remote controlled.
