I really wanted to love this dryer

I purchased this dryer in mid November 2025. It had a number of issues and was to be replaced by the appliance store. They order a new one, arrived damaged. Ordered another, arrived damaged. The fourth dryer was delivered 4/10/26. There is a very loud buzzing sound that is emitting from the front lower corner where the vent is. This is loud enough to be heard throughout the main floor of my home, even with the laundry room door shut. A service call was placed and the technician reported this buzzing sound is "normal" due to the function of the compressor. While in my home the technician contacted Bosch and was told that the sound was within Bosch's acceptable noise decimel rating. Bosch reported there is no action he could take to dampen/buffer the noise that would not void the warranty. There is a bit of a learning curve with a heat pump dryer, otherwise it functions well. At this price point and with Bosch's reputation, I expected better. I am deeply disappointed with the buzzing noise level as the laundry room is adjacent to my office and at times can be intrusive.

Great drying, but surprise maintenance

The drying quality is excellent. The moisture sensor is remarkably accurate-clothes come out consistently dried to the right level, not over-dried or still damp. I appreciate that the app asks for feedback on drying results; it's clear Bosch is listening to actual usage experience. However, I was surprised to learn this dryer requires regular maintenance programs. I assumed the self-cleaning heat pump fin meant it was essentially maintenance-free, but the manual specifies running a Basic Care program roughly monthly and an Intensive Care program every 4 months. These programs require a small rubber stopper that doesn't come with the machine-I only discovered this when the app prompted me. Important note for buyers: The care program reminders only appear in the Home Connect app, not on the machine itself. If you don't have it connected to WiFi, you'll never know maintenance is due. This should really be mentioned more prominently at purchase. On the positive side, when I called Bosch customer service about the missing stopper, they sent one immediately at no charge. Their support team was helpful and responsive. Bottom line: The core drying performance is excellent and the app integration is thoughtful. Just be aware of the maintenance requirements upfront-something I wish I'd known before buying.

This dryer is something to get use to. Your clothes still feel a little damp no matter what, but when you pull them out and wait a few, they are dry. The cleaning cycle is hard to figure out. I still can't figure out how to use the iron setting. So this dryer is almost too high tech.

Wi-Fi connectivity that allows remote operation and notification of cycle completion? Truly awesome. The dryer requires a few cycles initially with app-solicited feedback to dial in the drying quality, but the fact that it even asks and lets you adjust the drying cycle is excellent. The drying cycle takes longer than a traditional vented dryer, but the intelligence more than makes up for it.

There is a lot to like about this new dryer. The setup is straightforward. The instructions are clear and helpful. The dryer works as supposed and results in overall dry items but just a tiny bit damp. It is important to det up the wireless connection with the Bosch app as it warns about software updates and allows the owner to run the update. The tumbling noise is acceptable. Be aware that the system is locked till the updated software is fully installed. The notifications of the drying cycle in the app work well.

I cannot yet rate the Bosch dryer WQB245AXUC, because since I have had this unit for 3 days I cannot yet use. When I purchased this unit I told the distributor I had an existing 3 prong dryer outlet. They looked on their site and said this unit come with a 3 prong electrical plug plus anadapter to convert. When the unit was delivered and I was ready to plug it in, I found the plug on the unit is NOT a standard US dryer plug, but either what is looking like an EV plug. THIS does not fit into a standard 3 prong dryer outlet. The adapter has a 4 prong male which also does not work. I contacted Bosch, and the woman I talked to put in a order for the correct adapter, but could not tell me if it was in stock. I received an email from Bosch tell me this part is backordered. I again called Bosch and was told this part was expected to be received in their warehouse Oct 22, which 11 days after date of purchase Oct 11th. They cannot tell me after it is received when it will be shipped to me. I am guessing it will be at least 1 month after purchase before I can tell if this unit even works. On top of all this the woman I talked to on Oct. 15 told me this adaptor will cost me additional $79.00. So I spent almost $2,000.00 on this unit and I cannot even use yet. Not very happy. Will be talking about returning this unit and purchasing another manufactures. If buying this unit MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT PLUG, OUTLET AND ADAPTOR YOU NEED!!!!!

We needed a ventless dryer due to the small size of our space. The dryer is very nice but does take a lot longer than a vented dryer to dry clothes and the condenser is loud. I thought there must have been a problem with the venting fan, but had a technician out to look at it and he said this is a normal sound for this type of dryer (like a loud refrigerator at times). Our neighbor has a ventless Samsung dryer and I didn't notice the same issue when we used their machine while waiting for ours to be delivered. Otherwise, very pleasant to use display and very nice looking units for how prominent they are in our small house.

Horrible Customer Service

I have had this dryer for less than 5 years, and had at least 3 service calls on it. During the last service call for Boesch, we paid for the service calls. Even though the error message clearly indicated that there was a problem with the heating element (E009), the repairman claimed it was an issue with the circuit board. He came back and replaced the circuit board (again at my expense). I asked him to stay to make sure the problem was solved by running the dryer for 10 minutes. He refused. I called Boesch customer service, and they sent out a different repair firm - Mr. Appliance. They confirmed that the issue was, in fact, the heating element. Boesch informed me that it would cost nearly half the price of brand new dryer (approx. $800 USD), which is ridiculous. Boesch will not pay for any part of replacing the heating element. We have had the circuit board replaced two times and a new door put on. Terrible customer revice and terrible product.

I have an older version of this product, HORRIBLE! The drain is buried, hard to reach and CLOGS constantly. I clean the lint trap after every load. I clean the entire flow after every five loads, and still the drain clogs. Getting into the drain is frutratingly hard (horrible design). I called service, tech was several hours late. He moved drain hose higher nothing done to drain. Two hundred dollars later, CLOGGED DRAIN! I am looking to replace this HORRIBLE product this spring! AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Poor Customer Service, Glitchy Technical Issues

I want to love this dryer. But it is not possible. It requires a breaker box reset after a CARE cycle. The Home Connect app will not start the washer. And since the most recent software update, it no longer automatically turns on at the end of a wash cycle. Ours is connected to the water line for drainage but the condensation tank needs emptying multiple times weekly. I asked CS for help understanding what's happening and their answers were they didn't know and someone would call me. Crickets from there. I would never recommend these W/D units to anyone mainly for the complete lack of help from the Bosch CS department.
