The clock display times out and goes "Blank" after a few minutes of use. What good is a clock that only displays itself when you use the applicance? It is not really saving any energy when it blanks out, so why not leave it on as a clock? That is what a clock is for, to be able to see what time it is.

I do love this microwave, but they all drawback is the clock does not stay on and is difficult to get used to, but besides that everything else is great!

We bought our brand-new home in 2023, and all of the appliances came as Bosch. Unfortunately, our experience hasn't matched the reputation. Our Bosch oven/stovetop never worked from the start, though it was replaced and is finally working fine now.
Now our Bosch microwave has started sparking and making noises like it's about to explode. We immediately disconnected it and are currently waiting for Bosch to schedule a diagnostic appointment.
It's frustrating to deal with this kind of issue on such expensive appliances, especially from a brand as highly regarded as Bosch. This unit is a 2021 model, and while I realize it's likely out of warranty (we also didn't have the option to extend it), I can't help but feel a product at this level shouldn't be failing like this. After reading so many similar reviews, I even wonder if this model should have been recalled.
Fingers crossed Bosch can resolve this quickly. If not, we'll likely switch to a different brand moving forward.

The built-in Bosch microwave performs worse than my $200 microwave. The Bosch broke after 4 years. Very poor quality.

Seems to have a shelf life of 2.5 years. Have to decide between spending about 3/4 of the cost of a new one to get it repaired or just buy a new one

I finally got rid of this microwave! It started to spark about 9 months in. I paid nearly 1500 for a microwave that underperforms units at $150. Don't be fooled by the awesome look - it's a lemon and Bosch has to know it. I paid too much because I wanted it to match the great working wall oven below it. The design flaw is the magnetron is located on the interior ceiling of the unit which allows steam to carry oil behind the lid of the cover plate - creating conditions for powerful and I assume dangerous sparking. I've both cleaned and replaced the cover a couple times and it's solves the sparking for a short period of time, then the sparking continues. It must be a common situation. I am a builder and have purchased a couple dozen or more above range Bosch microwaves and kitchens and they are generally reliable. Don't bug this unit.

I loved this microwave, until I didn't. Really 1650. for this unit and after three years it started heating unevenly and then died. Spent 200 on an new part that lasted two minuted. 140 on a repair consult to be told it was trashed. I am now stuck waiting on a reply from Bosch after the repairman was to send an email....still waiting. I bought this for mynew kitchen remodel and now I am using an 8 year old 100$ microwave on m y fabulous counters that is still working....while I await a response.

This is our 2nd unit. The first one had multiple repairs then became unrepairable in less than 3 years. We got a 2nd one with a lot of negotiation with Bosch service for about 1/2 price of new. Considering the part they put in the first one that failed ruined the first one - there should have been no charge. I would have gone with a different manufacturer, but this is the only unit that fits the space.
