We've had this microwave for 2 years and just now am having an issue with some icon, (fan?) blinking and part of the second number not showing up all the way. A little frustrating but we didn't get an extended warranty so we can live with it. May look into seeing if there is a replacement circuit board of some sort that we can easily install.

This is less than a month old. This microwave is very quiet and works great, but the film where the numbers are is already starting to bubble and peel. This is less than a month old. Something this expensive should not do that. I can only imagine what it will look like after another month of daily use. This is also done as a built in, so easily seen by anyone in our kitchen.

Has a fairly large footprint, but huge interior is worth it. Turntable accommodates 9x13 dish and rotates smoothly. More powerful than my previous unit; some adjustment in my accustomed cooking times, but not a big issue. Setting power level is not intuitive.

The microwave has a very solid feeling. I think this one will last. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that the microwave is missing a lot of common presets and the keyboard is a bit slow.

This microwave was a replacement for an identical microwave that quick working after slightly less than two years. The new microwave functions fine for almost a month. It was installed on September 27, 2019 and stoped working on October 25, 2019. When it works, it is great, but when it stops working, it is very bad.

This is the replacement model for wmc50522as. I used this as a built in with trim kit. While the unit was functioning it performed great. Warranty has just run out unit and with no replacement Magnetron this unit and trim kit have become trash.

I've had the microwave for a year now and throughout my time with it I have experienced a similar problem to others. When I shut the microwave it will reset the clock completely. Now I have a different issue, now the fan light won't stop blinking and the light for the number beneath the fan indicator will not work properly.

This is my second WP MW. First one's panel LED failed after 2.5 years. Our Kitchenaid double oven's board went out after 2 years Under warranty but still cost $450. KA ice maker is a chronic problem. The WP Hybrid dryer's double lint filter is inefficient. Causing lint buildup inside the dryer. Required major disassembly.
Our overall experience has been less than favorable.

This was installed by the builder, on an upgraded package I paid for. I have lived in the home for 21 months and the microwave has a total of less then 90 minutes usage. We eat 99% of our meals out. The clock is only partially displaying. Model WMC50522 where do I purchase a display board so we can try to repair it ourselves. I will be contacting the builder I expected better quality. Most of these reviews indicate issues it should be pulled from the market.

I have had this microwave for 1 1/2 years now, was put in the home by our builder. I have had problems with the clock resetting when opening the door, also have to open and close the door a few times to get it to work. Now the fan button is flashing and I can't fix the time. Has anyone had this happen?

After only 1 year of use the start button completely stopped working. Every other button worked fine but if you can't run the thing that's not much good. Not sure if this had anything to do with the start button also being the "30 second " button or not.

My unit is actually the WMC50522AS1, which as another reviewer mentioned earlier, seems to be a product that Whirlpool claims they have no knowledge of. It must be a builder only product, but in my mind, it still has Whirlpool's name on it, amirite?

Works as good as our previous version of this model. It is very roomy and at 1200W it heats up the food fast. The only issue we have (which didn't happen with our previous version of this model) is that about four times now it has lost power when closing the door. It immediately comes back on but we then have to reset the time. So it seems to have something loose inside.

I am very pleased with my purchased. I had to replace an installed unit that failed. This model fit perfectly, the trim kit was easy to install and this unit is a bit more powerful (1200 watts) which has made a big difference in warming and cooking things.

Had it about a week, seems to do just fine with 2 exceptions - as I have seen in other reviews the door latch is very hard to push in to open the door. You have to hang on to the microwave with one hand while pushing the button to open the door with the other hand or you have to chase it all over the counter, hope it loosens up a bit. Other thing is that you can't silence the beep when it's done. Having a day sleeper in the house makes it a little irritating to have to try to catch it just before the end so you don't have to listen to the 5 beeps telling you it's done or waking someone up.

My old whirlpool microwave purchased in the mid 1980's still works. However the improvements are great. Works faster, probably more energy efficient. Only complaint is door opens stiffly and this model doesn't have preprogrammed recipies that i used on the old one. But the light works and i like the revolving tray and variety of warming options. Defrost works well.

We had to replace a built in unit over our oven that failed and was not repairable. The Whirpool was suggested to us. The price was great, it was easy to install, and it works very well. The extra 100 watts (we went from 1100 watt unit to this 1200 watt unit) does make a difference.

Bulb burned out within on week of use! Whirlpool said the bulb is not under warranty! No instructions on how to change and after calling no help from Whirlpool. Luckily I purchased microwave from Best Buy, they replaced the microwave with a new one!

Purchased and installed less than a month ago. It does all those things we use microwaves for: reheating coffee or rewarming a cinnamon roll. But I like that it has a larger capacity and the rotating plate that my previous microwaves did not have. The preset time/temp buttons work very well. Heating frozen vegetables was perfect. It's easy to clean.
Mine is a tower mount above the oven and a drawer and below a cabinet. There were issues with installation of the trim kit but talented contractor figured out a solution.

Within 6 months 2 units failed. Settings are not intuitive and short cuts like at GE products for minutes settings are missing. It is loud compared to our old microwave and more difficult to clean. Customer service for repair is diffficult to deal with. Service technician (first crew)sent to our house were questionable. Second crew for replacement was pleasant.
