Issues since day 1

Installed with grossly aligned knobs and no attempt to correct. After several poor attempts for service calls to align the knobs properly, customer service ghosted, stopped trying to resolve the issue and left us with misaligned knobs. In addition, when lighting one burner, others will inadvertently try to ignite. The unit is obviously a bad apple or factory refurb and the company customer service is atrocious. We specifically sought a Jenn Air for reliability and never again. Currently remodeling another home and will NOT use Jenn Air.

The fan knob should have been at the top of the knobs. I would have preferred to have all the burners work the same way. Sometime you want very low heat in the front of the range and vice versa. I would have liked the low setting to be lower on at least three of the burners. Downdraft works better than on the previous model, doesn't pull the flame to the center as much.

I have a nonfunctional cooktop

It™™s over two months now it™™s not working properly. Every part was replaced and finally on the fifth service call. The problem was found. I was sold a used cooktop by PC Richards. The people who purchased this before me used it for propane and never replaced the Jets in the cooktop for the flame. That™™s how I found out. I emailed jenn air and got no response about my situation.

Previous model allowed screws to rust so they couldn't be replaced. I bought this because it fit the granite cutout but when I visited the dealer I was really impressed. The quality is obvious. Burners can be easily removed for cleaning and the surface under the grills is coated so spills are much easier to removed. Knobs are heavy duty. Very Pleased!

This was purchased a couple of years ago. Someone has been out once to repair the front right burner. It would not light after at least 5 clicks of the starter. He said I wasn™™t using it properly. I grew up with a gas stove as well as living as an adult many years with a gas stove. I have Never experienced this. After he left it has happened numerous times. 95% of the time it will light of I blow on the burner or turn on the air vent. This was too expensive to have this problem this soon and many times afterwards.

I bought this cooktop to replace a cooktop with a telescoping downdraft, which we had to repair twice before it became unrepairable. This model features a built- in downdraft, no telescope that sits in the middle of the cooktop. Removal of filter for cleaning is easy and it seems easier overall to keep the entire unit clean. It takes a bit to get used to the subtle markings on the controls but once you get used to that it's also easy to select the right burner for the job. There's even a switch out burner control for "melt" that will come in useful for recipes that call for say, melting chocolate. It looks good. It works well. I'm happy with it.

Gas cooktops with downdraft are limited. Could not find an induction cooktop that would work. I previously had a JennAir gas cooktop and was happy with it. Replaced when I updated my counters. I do wish I could turn down the burner further than this one allows.

Vent too powerful on lowest setting

I wanted to love this cook top. However, the vent is way too powerful even on the lowest setting. It pulls the flame to one side so things don™™t cook evenly. I boiled potatoes for a half an hour and they were still raw. My husband pointed out that only one side was boiling. We put some aluminum foil ™walls™ so the draft has to go up and over. This helps a little. It™™s just a pain. For the price you™™re really just paying for looks.

Stove top looks really substantial and is well made. The issues I have is that the markings for the the knobs are very hard to see, and the black caps on the burners gotten spotty from cleaning. I would like Jenn air to recommend what cleaning products should be used on the stainless steel and the burner covers

Quality needs improvement

This cooktop has been a disappointment: the knob markers are almost nonexistent and alignment of the blower adjustment knob is not in alignment with the burner knobs. There is a general lack of quality compared the 35 year-old model (same Jenn Air) it directly replaced. At this price point, the fit and finish should be superb. The downdraft does affect the flame as expected but the grate design deserves improvement. As the only top-tier integrated downdraft cooktop on the market, please do better.

Some of the burners can be hard to lite. The heat defusers covering the burners are easily stained. And the lowest settings on burners will boil water, which means you can't simmer.
